Frequently asked questions
Common questions about digitisation, formats, and accuracy
1. Can I digitise specific parts of a floor plan?
When you digitise the original floor plan, the entire drawing will be digitised. We therefore recommend using the redaction tool to hide anything that you want the model to ignore. You can also isolate sections in the floor plan using zones in Studio. Please contact us if you need help with this.
2. Which format provides the best result?
PDF files will provide the best results. The PDF must contain a scale for optimal results.
3. We have buildings where several customers share the same floor. Do we need a separate copy of the floor plan for each customer to export their areas and cleaning frequencies as a PDF?
No. Instead of copying the plan, add a scheme for your customers in Studio and assign each area to the customer that services it. Your Frequency scheme stays on the same plan.
When you export from Portfolio, choose Floor plan(s) as PDF, set Scheme to visualise to Frequency, then add a Scheme filter and tick only the customer you are exporting for. The PDF shows the cleaning frequencies for that customer's areas only.
Scheme filters are available in the Portfolio export. Studio's own Export button doesn't offer them yet, so go back to Portfolio, tick the plan, and export from there.
4. Can I upload non-commercial floor plans?
We can digitise all types of commercial buildings, such as hotels, industrial buildings and shopping centres. Non-commercial floor plans will still be created, but as of now room types and certain furniture might not be recognised.
