Areas and room types
Name, number, and classify each space
An area is one enclosed space on the plan. Digitisation creates them from the walls it detects, and their sizes drive every figure in Statistics.
Click an area to open its properties on the left:
- Room number, the number printed on the plan and exported with it
- Room name, a free text name such as Reception
- Room type, what the space is, chosen from your organisation's room types
The room type also decides the colour the area is drawn in while the plan is coloured by room type.
Skim the plan for spaces that were missed, merged, or given the wrong type, and correct them before reading any statistics. Where a space needs splitting without a wall, use the Area divider tool in Wall.
